Painting Red Brick Walls

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is the thing when it comes to a painterly look on brick or concrete walls. Just try watering the paint down to a consistency easily absorbed by the wall and giving a sheen of colour. In these photos I applied the wash with a large round brush and plenty of rags to worry the liquid into the bricks. By dipping your brush into the paint pot every now and again whilst applying the wash you will create an irregular organic look reminiscent of gently worn patio corners. This is particularly tempting in an outside area finished off with a few pot plants and a little round metal café table and chairs!
