Creative Printing

Some inspiration from Annie Sloan here!

All you need is a bit of paint and some sliced through veggies!

This is fun to do and can create exciting designs based on the shape of the vegetable you choose.

Basically - Lay your fabric flat and if necessary hold in place with masking tape. Prepare yourself to have a good practice first to get the hang of it before starting on your main design.

Now dunk the cut edge of the fruit or veg in a saucer of your chosen colour paint and press firmly on the fabric in a confident manner. You can also apply the paint with a paint brush for more shapely veggies!

Leave to dry then warm iron the back of the fabric to set the paint better.

For a more sophisticated design try dyeing your fabric first in very dilute Chalk Paint™ Then add your block printing on top once the dye is dry.

Materials you need;

120 ml Chalk Paint™ colours of your choice.

Some well chosen sliced through vegetable or fruit.

A bowl of water (if dying your fabric first)

Masking tape
