Introduction to the Annie Sloan Method On enrolling, you will receive a welcome email with full instructions on how to prepare for the workshop. The following materials are included in the accompanying paint kit.

3 x Project Pots Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™, 1 x Project Pot Annie Sloan Clear Finishing Wax, 1 Small Annie Sloan Bristle Brush. 1 wooden board, Sample pots of Dark, Black and White Wax, 1 Lint cloth.

There is a questions and answers time at the end so get those paint questions ready!

On this workshop you practice on a wooden board to achieve the following effects:

  • How to prep your furniture where necessary.

  • Explore the many ways to manipulate the paint for effects from a simple colour wash to Annie’s signature two colour distress finish.  Although this is widely used to create a “shabby chic” look with the right knowledge, it can also be used really successfully to create a sharp contemporary, or subtle build-up of layered colours finish.

  • Create a new colour by learning how to mix them together. Understanding how colour works is a fundamental secret to unique work.

  • The best way to apply the finishing coats of clear wax to give your work the protection it requires. Plus a demo on the lacquer too,

  • How to control the waxing procedure so you feel secure about the application of dark and coloured waxes for a  perfect finish. These decorative flourishes add a subtle touch.

  • Using the wax as a resist with Chalk Paint™ to develop an original two tone effect.

  • .Highlighting textured relief paint surface with coloured waxes to achieve various finishes

  • There is so much more I talk about as well! There are lots of ideas for using Annie’s paint on your projects in ways other than painting. I can only introduce these to you here as time goes by so very fast.

The idea is that you finish the workshop with a good understanding of what you can create with the paint and confidence to tackle your next project in just the way you want to. Revamping a piece can be so much more than just slapping a bit of paint on! So make it look special.
